The material of this practice report is drawn from the documentary The Internet Wins. The documentary focuses on the hardships of the Internet's entry into China,as well as its achievements over the past ten years. The source language materials include two parts: the narration and the oral expressions of the interviewees. The part of narration is featured as professional with long and complex sentences, however, the part of interviewing is full of oral expressions with fuzzy logic. All these bring certain difficulty to the interpreting practice. At the same time, the most important difference between Chinese and English in linguistics is the obvious difference between parataxis and hypotaxis.Chinese is “parataxis”,while English is “hypotaxis”.This distinction makes a great difference between the two languages in logical expression. It is difficult to see the logical relation between Chinese sentences which are featured as parataxis, while English characterized by hypotaxis focuses on the connection between sentences, which has obvious sense of coherence and logic. Therefore,in Chinese to English interpreting practice, the interpreter needs to analyze the contents of Chinese and grasp the implicit logical relation between the lines,so as to improve the quality of the target language. This report, based on interpretive theory, aims to deal with the logical problems arising from the transformation from parataxis to hypotaxis in Chinese to English interpreting. The author analyzes the problems encountered in the process of interpreting and puts forward feasible solutions based on a large number of examples. On account of the different features shown in the materials, the author applies five main strategies during the interpretation to deal with the logical problems in order to make the information of the source language conveyed efficiently.
