The Temple of Confucius is the temple building of Confucius, and its history dates back to the second year of Confucius’ s death. In 478 BC,the Confucius Temple in the Qing Dynasty reached more than 2,000 and spread throughout the country. The Temple of Literature became a regional landmark. It has a wide range of influence and deep influence. The Temple of Literature is a material carrier for the dissemination of Confucian culture. It contains a rich cultural tradition and is also the foundation of the continuous Chinese spirit. This paper takes the Zhengzhou Confucian Temple as the research perspective. It allows people to understand the development process of the local Confucian Temple and its has positive effect on local governance. It calls for more attention and protection for the Confucian Temple. This article is divided into five parts:The first part mainly discusses the origin, development and rejuvenation of Zhengzhou Confucian Temple.According to historical records, the Zhengzhou Confucian Temple was built during the Yongping period of Han Mingdi. It was also related to the cultural and educational policies followed by Han Wudi who followed the “dismissal of one hundred Confucians and the only Confucianism”.As far as the Tang Dynasty was concerned, the scale of the construction of the Confucius Temple was expanding day by day,but there was a lack of information to examine. From Yuan to Ming and Qing Dynasties, local officials who have served in Zhengzhou have increased their attention to the Confucian Temple, and there were also a large number of historical records on the repair of the Temple of Literature. From the Republic of China to1978,the restructuring and political movements of the Temple of Confucius also caused it to suffer damage and destruction again and again.Since the reform and opening up,the importance of cultural resources and the protection of knowledge and civilization, the Temple has ushered in the dawn of revival. With the passage of time, although the Confucian Temple has undergone vicissitudes,it will eventually complete its historical mission and continue to carry on its culture. The second part mainly discusses the location and layout of the Temple of Literature.Regarding the site selection of the Temple of Literature,it mainly considers the historical origin of the Temple of Literature, the degree of civilized development in which it is located, the needs of society, and importantcultural atmosphere.According to historical records, the site of the Zhengzhou Confucian Temple is located in the east of Zhengzhou according to the requirements of the emperors of the Han Dynasty. And Zhengzhou is located in the Central Plains, outstanding people,a higher degree of civilization development. In addition, the establishment of the Temple of Literature satisfies the needs of the society. For the location of the Temple of Literature, the excellent surrounding environment is also an indispensable condition. The Zhengzhou Confucian Temple is located in the east of Shangdu Ancient City Wall and north of Chenghuang Temple. It is an excellent site selection area. The layout of the Temple of Confucius is based on the symmetry of the central axis, the back school of the front temple, and the five courtyards, all of which demonstrate the wisdom of the ancients and the beauty of ancient architecture. The third part makes a more detailed interpretation of the sacrificial functions of the Zhengzhou Confucian Temple, including the source of the ritual figures, procedures and costs. The ritual function of the Zhengzhou Confucian Temple is one of the indispensable ways of embodying its value. The sacrificed characters procedures and sources of costs will also change more or less as the times change. However,it is undeniable that The characters are worthy of respect and memory. With the development of society, many changes have taken place in the sacrificial methods and processes. However, following the sacrificial rituals and retaining the respect for the sages,it is a respect for history as well as an inheritance of traditional cultural knowledge. The fourth part analyzes the educational function of Zhengzhou Confucian Temple, and narrates it from two angles: school enlightenment and social education. The school education was analyzed from these five aspects, from the cultivation of the temple of the temple itself, the temple of the Confucian temple, the character deeds of the temple, the sculpture of the temple of the Confucian, and the sacrificial ceremony of the temple. The social education is more from the perspective of social impact, such as promoting local governance, enhancing cultural self——confidence, continuation of Taoism, and persuading the people to emphasize education,in order to analyze the role of the Confucian Temple in social education. The fifth part analyzes the existing problems of Zhengzhou Confucian Temple according to its Current situation including the historical destruction of the Confucian Temple and the lack of investment in capital. The repair of the Temple of Literature is incompleting and the management of the Confucian Temple is lacking.Especially at this stage, the Confucian Temple itself is not attractive enough and there are fewtourists to play the role of the Temple of Literature. In view of the deficiencies,we must first raise the value of the Temple of Literature as a starting point, increase financial and material resources, and repair the Confucian Temple. At the same time,we must establish a folk culture street with the Confucian Temple as the core and reasonably develop the resources of the Temple of Confucius. In addition, increase propaganda, improve the visibility of the Temple of Literature, and put forward appropriate measures to make the Zhengzhou Confucian Temple take full advantage of its own advantages, create a temple with local characteristics, and look forward to a better development of the Zhengzhou Confucian Temple.
