Research On Pang Zhonglu's "A Study Of The Sacrificial Rituals Of The Confucian Temple

As a national ritual,the Confucian Temple Sacrifice Ceremony has lasted for more than a thousand years in the land of China,and has been valued by successive rulers.The ritual system for worshipping Confucius has gradually become complete.The ritual system of Confucian temple ceremonies is often recorded in relevant historical books and classics.Among many comprehensive textual research works on Confucian Temple Sacrificial Rites,the book "Confucian Temple Sacrificial Rites Examination" written by Pang Zhonglu,a Qing Dynasty scholar,is very distinctive.During his tenure as the Guozijian’s wine offering,Pang’s mission was always to "honor the school through the Ming Dynasty’s rituals",seeking to edify the people’s hearts and beautify customs by compiling an ancient book on the ritual system of Confucian temples offering sacrifices to Confucius.Especially in the context of the era of "Heaven changing and Tao declining",the system of sacrificial rites to Confucius gradually became obsolete.How to play the role of learning temples to educate people again became the primary goal of Pang Zhonglu in compiling the "Confucian Temple Sacrificial Examination".At present,there are not many research results on "Confucian Temple Sacrificial Examination" in the academic community,so it is particularly necessary to conduct in-depth research on "Confucian Temple Sacrificial Examination".On the basis of previous studies and based on the historical data recorded in the "Confucian Temple Sacrifice Code Examination",the author classifies and analyzes the content of the system of sacrificial rites and music for Confucius,explores the evolution of the system of sacrificial rites and music for Confucius,and further clarifies the development of the system of sacrificial rites and music for Confucius in the Qing Dynasty and the Confucian ideology of rites and music underlying it.This article consists of four chapters.The first part mainly examines the author’s life and the background of the book.The second part analyzes the version,style,main content,and historical data sources of the book.The third part,based on the ritual system of Confucian Temple Sacrifice in the Qing Dynasty contained in the "Examination of Confucian Temple Sacrifice",further combs out the changes in the worshipping figures,sacrificial objects,and music and dance of Confucian Temple Sacrifice in the Qing Dynasty,and makes a detailed comb of the names and procedures of Confucian Temple Sacrifice in the Qing Dynasty.The fourth part further summarizes the characteristics of the book based on the text content of "Confucian Temple Sacrifice Classic Examination",and discusses its academic and social values."The Confucian Temple Sacrificial Code Examination" was written in the late Qing Dynasty,when the Confucian Temple Sacrificial Code System was already becoming complete.Therefore,the content of the Confucian Temple Sacrificial Code Examination is more comprehensive in many documents of the Confucian Temple Sacrificial Code System in the Qing Dynasty,and has the characteristics of complementary graphics and texts,extensive ancient and modern,detailed textual research,clear genealogy,and maintenance of orthodoxy.This article hopes to provide a systematic and comprehensive discussion of the book for the current academic community on the Confucian Temple Sacrificial Code System The research in the field of sacrificial rites to Confucius and the system of documents provides useful references.
