On Chinese To Russian Translation Of Beijing Dialect From The Perspective Of Functional Equivalence Theory

Dialect is one of the transmission carriers of regional culture,for which usage in literary works can reflect the cultural connotation.However,in Chinese academic circles,there are few studies on the issue of how to translate the dialect in literary works more accurately,especially the study of dialect translation in Russian is almost blank.Based on the functional equivalence theory of Nida,this study analyzes and summarizes the translation examples of dialect among vocabulary level.In order to provide the similar text with translation reference in Russian,and also to fulfill the lack of translation studies in related dialects,this paper will explore the proper translation strategies through systematic analysis,and also will explore the essence of dialect translation problems.In addition to bibliography and acknowledgement,this paper consists of five parts.Part ?:this chapter is the introduction,including the background,method,purpose and significance of the research.In addition,this chapter also introduces the present situation of the translation studies on related dialects at home and abroad,and makes an objective comment on it.Part ?:a brief overview on Lao She' s works and the characteristics of Beijing dialect.Take Lao She' s three works for example-Er Ma,Zheng Hong Qi Xia,The Teahouse,the Beijing dialect vocabulary within the three works will be classified and summarized in this chapter.The method is to establish a parallel corpus of above mentioned by looking up to the dialect reference book and to filter the dialect words in the original text.By using the keyword-search function of one software,the paper retrieves all dialect translation cases within the corpus.Then the corpus is used as the research object.Part ?:this chapter is the main body of the paper.Firstly,it introduces the functional equivalence theory,and the translatability of dialect words is analyzed on the basic of functional equivalence theory.Through analyzing and summarizing the corpus,the specific dialect vocabulary translation methods used by translator can be concluded from functional equivalence perspective.Next,combine quantitative and qualitative and use this method to explore the Russian translation law of Beijing dialect vocabulary.Thus,we can find out the factors which influence the translation strategies of dialect vocabulary,analyze the differences between different translators in translating the same dialect vocabulary,and think further about dialect words in multiple semantics and different contexts.Part ?:all translation work is difficult to be perfect,because the translator has limited knowledge of the source culture and historical background,which inevitably leads to the inaccuracy of dialect vocabulary translation.In this paper,we will discuss and analysis the mistranslation situation particularly at both semantic and cultural level which all based on the theory of functional equivalence.Therefore,it is necessary to explore the obstacles in the process of dialect translation.Part ?:the conclusion part reviews the overall text and summarizes the research results.
