As one way of language output,writing is an important skill to measure students' ability to use language comprehensively.Junior high school is the initial stage for students to learn English,and writing can directly measure whether students have mastered the word,phrase,sentence and grammar or not,representing students' ability to use language.In English teaching of junior high school,teachers put more energy on the student's listening,speaking and reading,neglecting their cultivation of writing ability.Main problems of students' writing are the lack of vocabulary and phrase,frequent use of Chinglish and grammar.As a traditional learning strategy,recitation can help students master the language points better.Many researches show that recitation is beneficial to promote the students' comprehensive abilities,including listening,speaking,reading and the fluency and accuracy of spoken English,which is an efficient strategy for learning English.But most experimental joiners are limited to college students who are at the high stage for learning English,and related research mainly focuses on analyzing the effect of recitation on English level of learners,while the research for analyzing the effect of recitation on listening,speaking,reading and writing respectively is greatly rare.Enlightened by the fact,the paper is mainly conducted to answer two questions: 1)Dose recitation promote the accuracy and diversity of using vocabulary,phrase,sentence and grammar in writing of junior high school students? 2)Dose recitation improve the students' writing level in junior school?There are 17 students in grade 3 of junior high school in mainland China to join the experiment.The students are divided into the experimental group of 8 students and the controlled group of 9 students.The experiment lasts for 27 weeks.During the experiment,the experimental group adopts the reciting method while the controlled group is required to do reading exercises.In order to prove that recitation is more beneficial for students to master vocabulary,phrase,sentence and grammar,the students are required to do two tests respectively.In order to prove that recitation is more beneficial for students to improve the student writing level,the two groups arerespectively asked to do two writing tests including pre-writing test and post-writing test.After the experiment,the teacher has an interview with the students to know their attitudes and opinions on efficiency of recitation and asks them to do reading exercises to improve their English writing competence.The result of the experiment shows that the points of two tests that mainly examine the situation of using word,phrase,sentence and grammar and post-writing test for the experimental group are higher than those of the controlled group,demonstrating that recitation is more beneficial for students to master vocabulary,phrase,sentence,grammar to improve the English writing level in the end.Recitation is generally an efficient strategy for improving the students' writing level in junior high school.
