Marcuse's Critical Theory Of Mass Culture And Its Enlightenment To The Culture Construction Of Mobile Phone In China

Herbert Marcuse is one of the representative figures in the social critical theory of the Frankfurt school.He also is a famous political theorist,philosopher and aesthetic scientist in the modern West.His critical theory of mass culture deep reveals not only the contradictions and conflicts in the modern developed industrial society but also the characteristic of totalitarianism by criticizing the developed industrial society in all directions and various fields.This paper,taking the criticism of mass culture as the main line,deeply analyzes the background and theoretical background of Marcuse's popular culture critical theory.It makes a deep study on the affirmative,single orientation,and the critical nature of the mass culture of capitalism in order that we can understand and grasp the profound meaning of Marcuse's mass culture critical theory about "one dimension of cultural industry" and "one dimensional man".With the prosperity and development of the economic society,the level of science and technology in capitalist society has been generally improved.Marcuse believed that the development of science and technology not only could satisfy people's need for material,but also appeased people's dissatisfaction and resistance about the existing order.The progress of science and technology has a great influence on the mass culture facilitating the spread of mass culture and strengthening the commercial characteristics of popular culture products.The mass culture products possess the function of ideology under the guidance of the capitalist ruling class.Thus,the mass culture has become a tool for the ruling class to tame people.Based on the study of the theory above,this paper makes an understanding and analysis of the current situation of the construction of mobile phone culture in China.At the same time,it tries to use Marcuse's popular culture critical theory to find the problems of culture construction.Through reference and learning,we can get the main measures to build mobile phone culture,and to further promote the healthy development of the construction in China.
