With the rapid development of mobile media, the era of mobile phone has arrived. At present, students who are m obile phone freaks or addict to m obile phone can be seen everywhere in campus. What’s worse, college students who abuse mobile phone are apt to become the slavery of mobile phone, which is harmful to their study, daily life as well as af fective interaction in different levels. Mobile phone addiction has been paid utmost attention to by research ers, with correlation studies springing up. However, studies concerni ng higher vocational colle ge students(aka higher vocational students) are quite rare. Alt hough higher vocational st udents belong to university students in our na tion, compared to university students, higher vocational students have their own feat ures. They take heavy burde n of study, hunting jobs as well as personal relationships, tending to indulge in the use of mobile phone. Against today’s backdrop that national vocationa l education shoulders the burden of cultivating intermediate and adva nced technicians, promoting developm ent of national economy, it is necessary to carry out further research on higher vocational students’ mobile phone addiction. In additi on, it is found that the relationship am ong time perspective, motivation of using m obile phone and mobile phone addiction has not been studied by literature analysis. Ex isting research results demonstrate a large number of phenom ena. For instan ce, different types of tim e perspective lead to difference among people in th eir personality a nd life-style. Motiv ation of using mobile phone influences behavioral patte rns. Mobile phone a ddiction results in disorder of time management and injury of physical and mental health, and so on. In order to offer suggestions which can ef fectively prevent mobile phone addiction and remind students of making rational use of mobile phone, this study comprehensively analyzes higher vocational co llege students’ mobile pho ne addiction status, and verifies that time perspective can predict the inclination of mobile phone addiction, aiming at constructing the re lationship model among time perspective, motivation of using mobile phone and mobile phone addiction.This study consists of three parts. The fi rst part is scale developm ent on college students’ motivation of using phones. The s econd study is about present situation and comparative study, taking 780 higher vocational college students and 428 undergraduates as subjects, analyzed the overall status of time perspective, motivationof using mobile phone and m obile phone addiction and their dif ferences on demographic variables, the d ifferences between higher vo cational college s tudents and undergraduates also com pared.The third study system atically analyzed the relationship among time perspective, motivation of using mobile phone and m obile phone addiction. The conclusions are listed as follows:1. The scale on college students’ motivation of using m obile phone contains 24 test items, consisting of 7 factors: se lf-expression, acquiring information, habit, entertainment, escape, awakening, as we ll as interpersonal communication. As is shown in statistic conclusion, this questionnaire has m et the dem ands of psychometrics, and it can be used as a m easuring tool to assess college students’ motivation of using mobile phone.2. Higher vocational college students’ mobile phone addiction m aintains at the secondary level and downwards. V ariables, like gender, whether studying in hometown(province), whether falling in love, grade, family atmosphere, time span of having phones, average daily operating tim e, average mobile traffic per month and average monthly phone expenses, have distinct impacts on one or more dimensions of higher vocational college students’ mobile phone addiction.3. Higher vocational college students ’ motivation of using m obile phone maintains at the middle level. Variables, like gender, whether falling in love, grade, have distinct im pacts on one or more dimensions of higher vocational college students’ motivation of using mobile phone.4. Higher vocational college students’ time perspective maintains at themiddle level. Variables, like gender, place of residence and whether only-ch ild or not, grade, have distinct im pacts on one or more dimensions of higher vocational college students’ time perspective.5. Undergraduates’ levels of mobile phone addiction, tim e of using phones, and time perspective are much higher than those of higher vocational college students.6. There is distinct correlation am ong higher vocational college students’ mobile phone addiction, time of using phones, and time perspective. What’s more, motivation of using mobile phone has distinct positive prediction on mobile phone addiction.7. Motivation of using m obile phone has m ediating effect between time perspective and mobile phone addiction, wh ich means that higher vocational college students’ time perspective influences mobile phone addiction through the m ediator of motivation.
