On The Application Of Expressive Color In Watercolor Painting

The history of watercolor painting may not be as long as other paintings,but its unique feature of the combination of water and color is loved by the painters and the public.With the development of watercolor painting art,the expression language of watercolor has become various.The expressive color is the language that the creative subject visualizes the externalization of its own thoughts and emotions.Therefore,in the process of painters' creation,the application of expressive colors has become a vital expression of watercolor art language.Under the influence of the expressionistic aesthetics,the Expression School gradually used color expressions to incorporate emotional spirits into the paintings.Watercolor artists have also been studying how to better express their strong subjective emotions via colors in their paintings.This is also a question which asks for continuous research and development of innovation by present and future painters.This article chose the typical Chinese and foreign watercolor artists and works as examples,and through the combination of their own creative practice to explore and summarize the watercolor art expression color theory and painting experience,trying to make the expression that the unreplacable significance of color in the watercolor paintings,so as to promote the watercolor art to have a better performance in the new artistic process.
