Power consciousness has always been the most important background in Liu Zhenyun's novels and a master key to the interpretation of Liu Zhenyun's novels.And the creative passion of the writer's narrative derives from the examination and exploration of the cultural ecology and the spiritual dilemma of our nation and group,as well as an observation of individual living conditions and human nature.In the 1990 s,liu Zhenyun's “Hometown Series” novels began to change from a sober perspective to a playful historical reconstruction.On the one hand,he constantly excavates the depth of history,under the occasional and irrational narrative,he has hidden two-way reflections on power and human nature.On the other hand,the reflection on power and human nature,the philosophy of life and existence are presented in the form of carnival and allegorical forms.This article will select social historical criticism methods,deconstruction research methods and textual close reading methods,and use the narrative of power in “Hometown Series” novels as the main research content to explore the spirit and narrative strategy of Liu Zhenyun's power narrative.The main part of this paper consists of Five parts.The introduction part makes a detailed analysis and overall understanding of the significance of the topics selected in this paper,the research status of Liu Zhenyun's novels,and the research ideas and methods of the thesis.The first part firstly analyzes the causes of Liu Zhenyun's power narrative from three aspects:the individual growth experience of the writer and the regional culture of Henan,the unavoidable influence of the thoughts of “New Historicism” in the 1980 s,and after a thorough survey of history and insights into social reality,the writer has consistently followed the philosophies of individual existence.The second part focuses on the analysis of the “Hometown Series” and elaborates on the themes of power narrative.It contains the distortion and suppression of individuals,the memory and deconstruction of history,and the rewriting and reshaping of traditional culture.The third part mainly discusses the unique artistic expression.Through the splendid time and space construction and carnival narrative,from the specific intrinsic time dimensions of externalized linear time,circular time logic,and space-time jump,to the carnival narrative tactics of joking,ironic carnivalization,and language carnival narrative strategies,we analyzed how Liu Zhenyun used these narrative strategies to write the absurdity and sin of power,that is,what the writer wants to satirize and expose.Liu Zhenyun presentedthe truth that has been obscured in the history to the reader in an absurd form,and expounded his unique thinking on power culture in the carnival texts.The epilogue part places Liu Zhenyun and his novel creations,especially the "Hometown Series" novels,in the social transformation of the 1990 s,to further explore his self-transcendence and practical significance in the coexistence of multiple value systems.
