Study On The Youth Subculture Of Youth Film In The Sixth Generation

There have been many excellent directors and films in the nearly 100-years development of Chinese film.Sub-group study is a special symbol of Chinese film research,and as the last generation of directors in the history of the Chinese film,the sixth-generation directors have different movie creation from other generations.The sixth generation of directors also have unique features in the youth movies creation.It is of great significance to analyzing the youth movie creation of the sixth generation of directors plays an important role in current youth movies creation.This thesis explores youth movies creation of the sixth-generation directors since the 1990 s and study the youth subculture characteristics in youth movies of the sixth-generation directors based on youth subculture theory in order to provide valuable experiences to relieve bottle neck of current youth movies The youth movies of sixth-generation directors emphasizes the artistic expression,highlights the subjective emotions of young people and have a clear sense of image modeling,all of which form the unique style in youth movie expression of the sixth-generation directors,however,authors have serious consciousness in the film and ignore the audience elements,causing the break between artistic value and box office.The box office of current youth movie are soaring,while its art value has been criticized,both of which lead to the uncoordinated situation between its art value and the box office.Based on merits and demerits of the sixth generation directors' youth films and current youth film creation,we could learn from the sixth generation directors to pay close attention to art expression,youth subcultures audience and combine their successful elements to make a theoretical explorationfor Chinese youth movie to form its own characteristics.In addition to the introduction and conclusion,the thesis is divided into three parts.In the first part of the dissertation,I analyze the film creation with the rebellious characteristics in youth subculture in youth movies creation of the sixth-generationdirectors and the outstanding performance of youth rebellious behavior in movies.I sum up performance behavior of the rebellious characteristics of young subculture in the sixth generation of youth movie : love for rock music,resistance to patriarchy,expression of violence and sexual elements.Through the concrete manifestation of three acts,it embodies the their agitation in youthful days,perplexity in the changing environment,the alienation from the mainstream discourse and the sense of nothingness of the individual.In the second part of the dissertation,the characters of the sixth-generation youth movies all have marginal features,which are in line with features of youth subculture.Through the classification of the marginalized characters in the movie,it is divided into art youth,female youth and lower-level youth.Through the analysis of the life experiences of these three kinds of youth in the movie,it is concluded that the sixth generation directors embodied their humane care for marginalized youth,and previously these marginalized youths did not appear in the form of movie protagonists,currently they show their youth life in cinematography,showing the cruelty of their youth and filling in the gap of youth cruelty movies with their real experiences.The third part of the thesis is about the analysis of image style of the sixth-generation movie directors.Youth subculture form their own culture group style with unique behaviors.The sixth generation of directors also formed their own image style in the practice of creation.They form their own image style with their realistic mirror language,dim visual effects,fractal narrative mode.The paper analyzes the concrete manifestation of the sixth-generation image style and tries to reveal the meaning behind the unique image.By analyzing the youth subculture characteristics of the sixth-generation directors,this paper attempts to provide a new perspective for the study of the sixth generation of directors,reference for the youth movie to to get out of the current plight and theoretical argument to become a mature type of film.
