The Effect Of Family Upbringing On Depressive Emotion:The Mediating Effect Of Emotion Regulation

Not only the depression will affect college students' physical and mental health and their behavior seriously,but also it has bad effects on college stude nts' future development.There are many researchers have found that family upb ringing is a important underlying factors of depression,but few researchers inv estigate the internal mechanisms of family upbringing affect depression.Therefo re,the study makes the college students as the research object,based on the emotion regulation,to discusses the mediation effect of emotion regulation bet ween the family upbringing and depression.In the first study,we made 633 college students as the object,used the E gna Minnen av Barndoms Uppfostran(EMBU)to measure college students' famil y parenting,used the Beck Depression Inventory(Beck)to measure the depression of college students,used the Adolescent Self-Rating Life Events Check List(A SLEC)to control the variable named life events.Then,we studied the relationship between the family upbringing and depression.The results showed that there was a negative correlation between good family parenting and college students' d epression,and there was a positive correlation between bad family parenting and college students' depression.In the second study,we made 513 college students as the object,uesd the chinese EMBU,the Beck and the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire(ERQ)to discusses the relationship among the parenting styles,depression,and the emoti on regulation strategies.The results showed that there are part of mediation effe cts of emotion regulation between the family upbringing and depression.Embodi ed in: cognitive reappraisal strategy has a part of mediation effect between the depression and fathers' emotional warmth and understanding;cognitive reapprai sal strategy has a part of mediation effect between the mothers' emotional war mth,understanding,mother refused,deny,mother harsh,punishment and depre ssion.This study proved that the family upbringing has prediction effect on colle ge students' depression.Meanwhile,we found the cognitive reappraisal strategy has a part of mediation effect between family upbringing and college students' depression.
