| With the increasingly enhanced concerns on chamber music(especially the string quartet)in the field of professional performance,chamber music performance teams are emerging in more and more places.During my daily study in China Conservatory of Music,I can sense the great importance attached by the Conservatory on chamber music education.In 2013,as string quartet from China for the first time won the gold medal in the international quartet contest,it made me understand the popularity and significance of chamber music internationally.More than ten years ago,China Conservatory of Music took the lead to establish the Chamber Music subject.Presently,specialized Chamber Music Teaching and Research Office have been set up,highlighting the development of string quartet.String quartet has become a 3-year required course for each string music student in the Conservatory.In addition,efforts are also made such as inviting internationally renowned professional chamber music experts for master classes.Later on,piano chamber music course and wind instrument chamber music course were made available successively.And the chamber music education system cored by string quartet is gradually consummated.Promoted and motivated by Central Conservatory of Music,most of conservatories in China have successively established chamber music lessons and even independent teaching and research offices to offer courses based on quartets.However,string quartet is different from sole in teaching methods.And the tutors for quartet have to be professional quartet performers.Quartet applies multiple cooperative techniques,of which cooperation problems on tone,technique,understanding on harmony and part,etc.are not covered by solo teaching.With this regard,presently the creation of a great professional chamber music atmosphere that properly balances performance and teaching as well as academic research and music popularity education has become a new topic for the music education in China. |
