A Practice Report On English-chinese Translation On Structure And Lexical Cohesion In Monster Anthropology

With the continuous development of translation studies,people pay more attention to the application in translation.To ensure cohesion and coherence of texts,we must first ensure the cohesion between the two basic levels of structure and vocabulary.Therefore,it has great significance to study structure and lexical cohesion.In recent years,the field of translation studies is more and more extensive.However,there is very little domestic research on monstrosities and anthropology.Therefore,this report uses the book named "Monster Anthropology" as research object.The book is logical and scientific,but also appears the problem of repetition of words,the structure of the book is not close and other issues,which form the key and difficult in the translation.If all of them are translated in the same terms,they will inevitably result in problems such as single words,repetitions,and poor structural connection,which leads to the problems studied in this paper,namely,the problem of structural cohesion and lexical cohesion.Aiming at the translation problems of the words and structures involved in the book,this paper analyzes several solutions.Aiming at the problem of insufficient and overlapping structure in the connection of structure,it is solved through such methods as logical connection,substitution and isomorphism.In view of the problems of word repetition and incoherent connection,it is solved by converting repetitive words and using connectives.Through the research and explanation of the translating problem in this aspect,I hope it can bring some enlightenment and reference for the translators who will encounter problems in vocabulary and structure connection in the future.
