J.S.Bach(1685–1750)is a German composer, violin, cello, and organ player in Baroque period,in particular,he has the highest attainments in organ. He is called the greatest composer in the history of music, and "the father of western modern music".Cantata is one of Bach's important musical genres. In his life,he has created more than 200 cantatas. On the one hand,he extended the secular cantata tradition of approaching opera,on the other hand,he absorbed the choral tradition close to polyphonic religious cantata, and created a new form of vocal instrument combination, cantata.Chapter 1 of the article briefly introduces the development history of cantata and the three main periods of Bach.Chapter 2 takes Bach's Ich hatte viel Bekümmernis,BWV 21 as an example, and the author makes a preliminary analysis of cantata from three aspects: the background of creation, the citation of lyrics and the structure of music.Chapter 3 is a brief analysis of how to deduce soprano, especially the grace notes, segmentation, stress and recital of cantata, and the relationship between the singer and accompaniment,so as to further understand the vocal value of Bach Cantata.
