In 17th century,Vermeer was the leading painter in the Golden Age of the Netherlands.As with the Dutch art painting of the same period,Vermeer also from the daily life scene,focusing on the light and shadow of the description and details of the grasp.His early works are mainly about mythology and history,the theme is taken from the Bible,and the style is influenced by Caravaggio.The middle and late period pays attention to the indoor daily life,the personage’s sentiment description.The Allegory of the Faith is a work of Vermeer’s late period,and it may be his last work.In this work,the late Vermeer’s expression of "fable" theme through painting is fully reflected.Before this domestic scholars focused on the study of Vermeer’s color,light and shadow and the use of dark box assisted painting,less on the fable of Vermeer’s later paintings.And how to express fables through painting to explain."Picture in Picture" is also a unique way of the performance of Vermeer’s paintings,the domestic scholars focus more on the map behind the screen.Less research on the "Picture in Picture" on the overall picture connotation of the role and relevance.Based on Vermeer’s The Allegory of the Faith,this paper probes into the source of Iconology expression of his fable,and finds out the modification made by Vermeer in the application of traditional Iconology.Try to find out why Vermeer made this change.In order to take a look at the influence of the Dutch religious and social environment on the performance of his paintings in 17th century in the light of Vermeer’s life.At the same time,through the "picture-in-picture" and composition as a breakthrough,to explore the late Vermeer works through the management of the image of the construction of his work"stage" way. |
