Buddhist Music is an important part of Chinese traditional music.At the end of the Qing Dynasty,the decree of “School Instead of Temple” has been promulgated in Tianjin,and many monks were forced to leave the temple.The Tianjin Buddhist Music was entered the public by the art monks.After that,the Tianjin Civil Buddhist Music was facing a serious situation.The author investigates the carrier and development status of Tianjin Civil Buddhist Music in the late twentieth century with the method of literature analysis,field trip and interview.It is hoped that the research will help the cultural sector to formulate relevant cultural protection policies and make contributions to the inheritance and development of Tianjin Buddhist Music.This article is divided into three chapters.The first chapter mainly discusses the historical background,formation of style and classification of track of Tianjin Buddhist Music.From the diachronic perspective,the general summary of Tianjin Buddhist Music has been given.This paper probes the reasons of the formation of the Tianjin Buddhist Music style and makes a introduction of its circulation.The second chapter covers the two parts of the statistics of Tianjin Buddhist Orchestra and Buddhist Music.The first part is a analysis of the establishment and development of the Tianjin Buddhist Orchestra and the decline of it.The second part classifies and sums up the Tianjin Music tracks collected and collected by the national civil investigation team in the last century and introduces the important inheritors of Tianjin Buddhist Music.The third chapter is the investigation of the present situation of Tianjin Buddhist Music.The author selected two areas of Jinnan and Xiqing in Tianjin to make field visits.Through interviewing artists,the author knew the status of the development of Tianjin Buddhist Music and artists.
