To Pose And To Find Are Both Ways Of Taking Still Life Photography

During these three years,I focuse on still life photography.At first,I query about the concept that “Still life photography is about shooting still objects” is too simple.Then with the theoretical research,I consider that dose each object has its own metaphor or symbol in paintings or photos? And is it the only way to do still life photography by posing objects? How many possibilities of the relationship between photographers and the objects exist … I have so many questions.Then I use the combination of theoretical research and practices.I read domestic and foreign theoretical studies on still life paintings and still life photography.And for practice,I do at least one set of photography creation each month.One reason of writing this essay is that I want to sort out,to summarize,and to try to find out the answers through this paper.This paper includes three parts.The first part showed a current situation is that photography is still been affected a lot by paintings,by given examples of two photographers' works to prove it.Still life is one category of photography,it is also affected by the 16 th and 17 th centuries Dutch still life paintings until now.In this part,I also revealed the literary metaphors of these objects which were shown on paintings according to the specific historical environment in that time.The second part summarized and explained one way is the posed still-life photography,from the commercial products photography to the photography in contemporary art field.In this kind of photography,the objects are subjectively controlled by photographers in unnatural statements.The third part take Karl Blossfeldt' s,Bernd & Hilla Becher' s and my own work as examples,introduce and analyze one new possibility of taking still life photography,which means to find and to discovery objects in life,and also honestly record them with not disturbing their natural statement.
