On Realistic Painting Style In Combination With Graduation Creation

Realistic painting style first appeared in France in the middle of the 19th century,it was then used to name the artistic revolution of Courbet et al.By the late 19th century,the Russian roving exhibition school had further enriched this painting style and reached its peak in the West.Until 20th century,the trend of thought in modern art promoted the rise of modernist schools,and realism gradually declined in the West.However,it had yielded unusually brilliant results after it was introduced into the People's Republic of China in the first 17 years of this country and is still dominating the realm of fine arts up to now.As students majored in oil painting,we've been studying realistic painting style and realistic techniques for a long time under the art education pattern of Russian traditional academies,which was inherited by our country.This has led me to a series of reflections on this painting style:when realistic painting style,which was originated from the West,has declined in its homeland,why would it endure in our country for such a period and occupy the mainstream of the art world for a long time?Then,combining my own humble opinions of realistic painting style,I am trying to create a graduation work with realistic spirit.This article first briefly describes the concept and characteristics of the realistic painting style,as well as its emergence and development in the West and its spread and mainstream status in China.The second part,then,focuses on the reasons why the style of realistic painting has been dominated in our country for a long time:the choices of times as well as national cultural choices made by our traditional culture and aesthetic commonalities.This part also deals with its problems that exist at this stage and the prospect of its development in the future.The third part discusses the realistic painting style in combination with the creating process of the author's graduation creation.The fourth part concludes that the nationalization of realistic painting style is a long-term and arduous task,and it is of great significance to adhere to the road of realism at present and in the future.
