A Research On Modern Neo-Confucian XunZi’s Doctrine Of Xin

This paper research on Modern Neo-Confucian Xunzi’s doctrine of "Xin",to center around Xu Fu-guan,Mou Zongsan and Tang Junyi,The paper firstly combs and expounds the study of Xunzi’s doctrine of "Xin" about Xu Fuguan,Mou Zongsan and Tang Junyi,and reveals that Xu and Mou defined Xunzi’s "Xin" is a"cognitive Xin",while Tang defines Xunzi’s "Xin" is a "universal Xin".This paper holds that although there are some differences between Xu and Mou’s theory on Xunzi’s doctrine of "Xin",the meaning of "cognitive Xin" is basically consistent,and it is considered that the "Xin" of Xunzi emphasizes the level of cognition.In Tang’s Dynasty,Xunzi’s theory of "universal Xin" contained the two meanings of"knowing category" and "understanding unity",and he thought that Xunzi’s "Xin"was the first manifested as a sense of "Xin",and the second was the "Xin" of a will.On this basis,a comparative study of the "cognitive Xin" and "universal Xin" was made to reveal that Xu Fu-guan and Mou Zongsan’s "cognitive Xin" could be contained in Tang Junyi’s "universal Xin".Furthermore,the way to explore Mengzi and Xunzi’s deficiency can be carried out by Tang Junyi’s "universal Xin".
