The purpose of this study is to explore the effectiveness of multimodal teaching method in improving senior high school students’ English listening level,to verify the influence of multimodality on the senior high school English listening teaching by empirical study,and to make up the shortcomings of the traditional teaching methods as well as to improve the senior high school students’ English level and listening abilities.We mainly focus on the following questions in this study: 1)What is the influence of multimodal teaching method on senior high school students’ English listening level? 2)What is the influence of multimodal teaching method on senior high school students’ interests in English study? 3)What is the influence of multimodal teaching method on cultivating senior high school students’ self-learning abilities? 4)What is the influence of multimodal teaching method on cultivating senior high school students’ good English learning strategies?In this study,totally 80 students in two parallel classes of an ordinary senior high school in Anhui were selected as the participants.One class was treated as the experimental group and the other one was treated as the control group,and the experimental period lasted about twelve weeks.The writer compared the differences between the traditional teaching method and the multimodal teaching method by experimental investigation.Then collected the test data of the participants’ English listening level before and after the experiment,used the SPSS22.0 statistical software to analyze the influence of multimodal teaching methods on the participants’ English listening abilities and tested effectiveness of multimodality in English teaching.The purpose of this study is to provide more effective listening teaching methods in current senior high school English classes.In this study,we have found that: 1)Multimodal teaching method is helpful to improve high school students’ English listening level effectively;2)Multimodal teaching method is helpful to stimulate senior high school students’ interests in English study;3)Multimodal teaching method is helpful to cultivate senior high school students’ English self-learning abilities;4)We can cultivate senior high school students’ good English learning strategies by multimodal teaching method.By experiment,we apply multimodality to the current senior high school English listening teaching,try to explore a new teaching method to make up the shortcomings of the traditional English listening teaching and improve senior high school students’ listening abilities and English level effectively.
