With the further development of Economic Globalization and the continuous improvement of China's international status,English as “Universal Language” is playing an increasingly important role in international communication and foreign trade.The whole society has an increasingly higher demand for both English and oral English.As a link in the special stage between primary education and higher education,because of subject and object factors,senior high school oral English teaching in China is not very optimistic and it also has many different problems.Therefore,it is very valuable for us to take measures to improve the current situation of oral English teaching,to solve the main problems of oral English teaching,and to improve the quality of oral English teaching.The study on the current situation of oral English teaching in the Experimental Middle School Attached to Huaibei Normal University is carried out.The research participants are part of students and all English teachers in senior high school.It aims to know the school's current situation,find the problems of oral English teaching,analyze the main reasons and put forward some solutions to enhance students' oral English learning motivation,stimulate their interest in learning,and improve English teaching efficiency and teaching quality.The study uses Input Theory and Output Theory as the theory basis and collects the required data and information through the questionnaire survey,classroom observation and teacher interview.With the help of data collection and analysis,this thesis summarizes the main achievements and problems existing in the current oral English Teaching in this senior high school from three aspects,such as school,teacher,and student.School lacks language environment,oral English teaching and testing feedback mechanism.Teachers attach importance to reading and writing,despise speaking,organize single form of oral activity,and use improper oral correction strategies.Students have low motivation level,more anxiety,good written examination and poor oral performance.The study combines the related research results and educational teaching theory,and puts forward some suggestions and strategies from school,teacher,and student to solve the problems.School should create positive language learning environment,arrange efficient and reasonable testing evaluation mechanism,deepen teaching resources and improve teaching conditions.Teacher should change educational concepts and teaching modes,create oral teaching activities,choose reasonable oral correction strategies and alleviate student's anxiety.Students should enhance autonomous and cooperative learning ability,memorize more words and strengthen practice.The study hopes to provide a certain reference value and guiding significance for the teaching of oral English.
