The bronze mirror discovered in the tombs of Han Dynasty,divided by studs or rules,has patterns of the gods of quartet and animals,such as Basaltic,Qinglong,Suzaku,White Tiger,Yuren,unicorn,deer,sheep,dragonflies,birds and so on.In general,there are three kinds of decorative patterns:the gods of quartet;beasts and birds;the gods of quartet,beasts and birds.And there are three layout structures,multi-zone single-master pattern;multi-zone dual master patterns;master patterns and other multi-zone asymmetric.According to the combination of decorative patterns and morphological characteristics,it can be divided into four periods:the late Western Han Dynasty,the Wangmang Period,the early Eastern Han Dynasty,and the Middle of Eastern Han Dynasty.It is generally assumed that the types of ornamentation have evolved from singleness to diversity,and the ornamentation image has evolved from simple to gradually complex.The pattern of birds was increasingly seen in bronze mirrors in the Wangmang period,the proportion of bronze mirrors that adorned many bird patterns continued to increase,it was a budding period from the pattern of beast to bird.At present,the bronze mirrors with the gods of quartet and animals seen in the pattern and composition of regional differences are not obvious,reflecting the strong commonality.However,the mirrors with asymmetrical ornamentation mainly appear in the south. |
