| The rearranged of shinjūkyō style of bronze mirror originated in Sunwu area and was popular from the late Eastern Han dynasty to Six Dynasties. It used the technique of high relief and the layout of the rearranged mirror in the same direction to present the scene of the gods. The emergence of the schema of gods in shinjūkyō was closely related to the early Taoist worship and the changes of belief in immortals among the Han people. However, the images of immortals in the rearranged of shinjūkyō are very similar, the identity of the deities could only be inferred by combining the directions implied by the four deities in the mirror with the literature. Therefore,it makes the study of the rearranged of shinjūkyō become difficult. The shinjūkyō has been popular in southern China for more than 400 years. There are various types with their own development sequence. This paper starts with images, put the rearranged of shinjūkyō into the whole historical process of the development of the shinjūkyō.This paper analyzes the image sources of the early shinjūkyō and the changes in the process of transmission and try to restore the developing process of the rearrangement of shinjūkyō in Wu area. Therefore, the historical background of the emergence and the disappearance of the rearrangement of shinjūkyō could be further discussed. At the same time, the changes of Wu people’s belief in immortals could be reflected through this paper. |
