The source text is the Chapter Seven of Game Localization: Translation for the Global Digital Entertainment Industry written by Minako O'Hagan and Carmen Mangiron,famous professors respectively from Dublin City University and Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona.The rapid development of global game industry caused wide spread of game products and related cultures among different areas,and strong demand of game localization occurred due to the language barriers.While domestic game localization industry being at a starting stage,the industrial situation of it remains poorly understood.Also,domestic studies about game localization as a new branch of translation is still beyond enough.From a professional perspective,this book analyzes game localization industry in details for game publishers,translators and game fans,and provides elaborate answers to the hot issues in game localization to enlighten readers' comprehension and expectation of this industry.The book is precise,complex and logical in its language style,and contains large amounts of terms.Translation of these terms from fan culture,game localization and computer science require rigorous references and deliberate consideration.Besides,English compound sentences with attributive clauses and adverbial clause,differences of language habits are the difficulties of translation.Considering of conveying information of ST correctly into target language for the readers,the translator adopted document retrieval,adopting the established versions,method of annotation,restructuring,division,conversion,negation to overcome those translation difficulties.
