The topic of sexual relationships is a permanent theme in Sally Potter's films. In her earlier films, she exposed radical feminism in the works.Although Orlando won a huge success,Sally stopped shooting for five years to give herself enough time to rethink about sexual relationships.Influenced by the society,Sally has changed a lot and found a better way to deal with sexual relationship. From Sally Potter's two shorts and seven long films, this article is divided into three parts. The first part is to discuss the period before the 1980 s and her works to show the intrepid pioneers of consciousness, and works of feminist thinking. The second part is about the 1990 s,she gradually revolted from a pioneer to a mainstream filmmaker. She added compromise into the relationships. The third part is in the 21st century, combined with the political idea in her works and reflections on the present society,Sally Potter finally finds how to protect women from losing themselves in the sexual relationship.
