Animation performance plays an absolutely significant role in the production of animated films,which drives the rhythm of the film and sets the image style of entire video.According to the theme,the author applied emulation performance to the original short animated film The Death,and created a depressing and sorrowful situation with animated characters' delicate and plain acting.This paper,starting from animation performance,mainly analyzes the influence of animation performance in the setting of the specific theme of the movie and shows what animation performance is and its impact on the production of this short animated film The Death in detail.It describes the relationship between screenwriting and animation performance,and analyzes the interaction between animation performance and art style,that is,the choice of performance style will affect the art style of animation,and artistic design provides the role and stage for animation performance.Therefore,the suitable artistic design style will perfectly show the unique feature of animation performance.Then it introduces the relationship between animation performance and storyboard design.In the end,there is a brief statement to problems and solutions in the process of creating The Death.The author understands the animation performance more clearly through creating the animated short film The Death,and gets a more explicit realization on the impact of animation performance,which will help the author accumulate valuable experience for future animation making.At the same time,the author acquires a deeper comprehension about death the theme of this animation,and expects that this film can encourage the audience to actively acquire a better understanding of death as well as a deeper cognition of life.
