The reflective teaching rose in the United States since the 1980 s and developed rapidly all over the world.After introducing to China in 1990 s,great mass fervor to research the reflective teaching were set off that affected education reform in China.The theory of the reflective teaching holds that teachers discover,explore constantly and then solve various problems in teaching process as well as analyze,scan and adjust their educational practice in the process of teaching,so as to achieve self-breakthroughs and self-development.More and more researches on English teachers' reflective teaching in China in recent years,but most of them discussed about the reflective contents and reflective strategies of English teachers in the primary school or middle school.It is insufficient for the research on the reflection pointing to English teachers in the vocational colleges.Therefore,the aim of this thesis is to research English teachers' reflective teaching in vocational colleges by means of quantitative and qualitative analysis,which is based on the study of English teachers in vocational colleges in Heze city,Shandong province.This research is not only study the reflective contents and the reflective strategies of English teachers in vocational colleges,but also try to analyze the factors that influence English teachers' reflection in practice from both the aspect of English teachers and the aspect of vocational colleges.The author conducted a questionnaire survey of English teachers of vocational colleges in Heze city in Shandong province from 2016 to 2017.After questionnaire survey,the author selected four English teachers who participated in the survey randomly,included two English teachers from Heze Vocational College and two English teachers from Heze Domestic College,respectively.The research questions are as follows:1.Do English teachers realize the necessity of the reflection?2.What are the contents and strategies that English teachers usually reflect in vocational colleges?3.What are the factors that influence English teachers' reflection in practice in vocationalcolleges?The paper collected data through questionnaire and interviews.Among them,the questionnaire is adapted from the author's The Questionnaire on the Status Quo of English Teacher's Reflective Teaching in Vocational Colleges.Through the analysis percentage of questionnaires and interviews,it is found that the factors that affected the reflective teaching of English teachers in vocational colleges in four aspects.The main findings are as follows:1.Lack of active consciousness of reflection.2.Lack of effective reflective strategies.3.Lack of reflective atmosphere.4.Lack of reflective evaluation system.In the terms of reflective consciousness and strategies,English teachers in vocational colleges have reflective consciousness,but the reflective method is single,lacking in the cultural atmosphere,and the evaluation system is imperfect.The author obtained some implications for English teaching after analyzing the reasons.The author made great efforts,but due to personal theory level and research capacity,there are still a mass of limitations and shortcomings in this study.Thus,the author intend to conduct the in-depth further study on English teachers' reflective teaching and do the further research on more effective approaches of the reflective teaching which could improve English teachers' quality and embody English teachers' value,to hope to make a great effort to promote English teachers' professional development.
