According to the requirements of educational ministry, vocational education in our courtry aims to cultivate students'practical ability to use English and highlight the practical nature of teaching content. However, current curriculum system of the English couses in vocational colleges is far away from the need for skilled talents majoring in English from the society, which asks for teachers to adjust and develop the curriculum system on the basis of need for talents. Therefore, teachers in vocational colleges should reflect on every step of teaching process in order to elevate their professional qualities, achieve teaching objectives effectively, push forward the reforms of the English courses in vocational colleges and breed qualified talents to meet the need from the market.On the basis of interviews with colleagues and students in my workplace, this reseach presents current teaching backgroud in this college to indicate the necessity and present situation of reflective teching method in vocational education of English.First, this reseach shows the function of English in vocational colleges and its feature of reflecting the need of the society instantly. There are problems in current teaching process of English education of vocational colleges, i.e. the huge gap between students'language basis and the need for practical use of the language, diverting of teaching objectives in practice of practical English education, features of vocational colleges neglected in teaching content, teacher-centered approach dominating the teaching process and the need for improvement of evaluation system.This research shows current situation of reflective teaching approaches in my workplace. Major factors influencing teachers'reflective teaching are analysed on above foundation, which stresses the connotation of reflective teaching in the English courses of vocational education.On the basis of general meaning of reflective teaching, this research combs relevant concepts and indicates its function in the field of teachers'career development and reforms of English courses in vational colleges. Besides, this, research offers general content and strategies of reflective teching method in vocational Englisht. This research also presents basic models to carry out reflective teaching method, key points and major means to practise. In practice of reflective teaching method, this research offers a plan of reflective teaching method to present its necessity and connotation. In addition, this research points out problems of reflective education that should be payed attention to in vocational English and relevant suggestions.
