With the deepening of world multipolarization and economic globalization,cooperation and exchange among countries in various fields have been strengthened,which has made interpreting more and more important.In order to further improve the effect of interpreting in practice,lots of scholars have put forward many constructive opinions through in-depth study of the interpreting process.Therefore,in the paper,the author recorded interpreting preparation and on-site interpreting process of her simultaneous interpreting practice,then analyzed the problems in the interpreting process and put forward the solutions.The material in this practice report comes from a lecture by American Fulbright Scholar Pat Munday in Jilin University Our Rivers are Burning! How the U.S.Passed the Clean Water Act,a Case Study in American Politics,which concerns history,politics,literature,etc.It can be seen through the practice that there will be lots of problems in the process of simultaneous interpreting.The author focuses on the problems that appear in the interpreting process,including three types: information loss,misinterpreting,and incoherence in the interpreted text,and put forward solutions to these problems,simplification and generalization,free translation,and pinpointing logical connectives,hoping to provide references for other similar types of tasks in the future,and improve interpreting quality and audiences' acceptance.The report is divided into four chapters.The first chapter is a description of the task,including background and requirement of the task.Chapter two describes the procedure of the task,which is composed of three parts: interpreting preparation,onsite interpreting process,and post-interpreting evaluation.Chapter three analyzes the problems in interpreting task and solutions.In last chapter,the author draws conclusion and offers proposals to interpreters.
