Rubbings are an ancient and traditional technique in China,which is a good carrier for copying patterns and reflecting living conditions.The rubbings are the materials that record the ancient history,geography,politics,economy,culture,military,science and technology,architecture and so on of our country,the use of rubbings is of great significance to modern archeology and the preservation of excellent Chinese historical culture.However,due to the history of relief stone sculpture rubbings for thousands of years,some rubbings which hard to preserve have appeared a lot of problems because of weather,climate,storage environment,storage methods and other factors.Therefore,it is an urgent problem to let the relief stone sculpture rubbings display its charm and value in other forms.But relief stone sculpture works,because of their long time,may corrode and show signs of man-made or natural destruction.So it will inevitably result in some interferes in the thump process of the rubbings,so that there is a lot of noise in the rubbings made,and in the process of making rubbings,noise will also be formed due to the difference of technology or tools used in making rubbings,as well as the later thumping and using of ink.Therefore,in the process of getting linear image,we must first process the image in the rubbings to get a uniform smooth and noiseless linear image.What is called linear image,is that the characters or pattern on the rubbings is similar to a clear,smooth border pattern drawn with a pencil.In this paper,we have analyzed the characteristics of noise in the relief stone sculpture rubbings of Han dynasty through the study of them.Noise is generally divided into fine granular noises,large areas of noise,noise that does not form a closed area or is connected to lines in the image.First,the fine granular noise is filled out by the selective hole filling algorithm,for other types of noise which do not satisfy the condition of selective hole filling,the arc approximation method is applied to perfect the noise,and using the MATLAB tool,the smooth and clear linear image of the rubbings is finally obtained.The linear image of the rubbings can effectively restore the historical aesthetic feeling of relief stone sculpture works,which is of profound significance to the study of ancient Chinese history and culture,and to restore their historical aesthetic sense.
