Study On The Solutions Of Urban Living Water Problems In Lanzhou In The 1940s

Water is the source of life.The survival and development of people and cities are inseparable from water.Lanzhou is located in the northwest inland,and it is relatively rich in water resources since the Yellow River.However,in fact,the residents of Lanzhou City have always been inconvenient for water use.Problems such as inconvenient water intake and turbid water quality affect the daily life of residents.In particular,following the establishment of the city in Lanzhou in the 1940s,due to the impact of the anti-war environment,population growth and rising prices have made the existing domestic water use problem even more prominent.Even water use has led to health and epidemic prevention,price control,and municipal construction.Many problems not only affect the normal life of urban residents,but also restrict the development of cities in Lanzhou.The article takes the state of domestic water use in Lanzhou City in the 1940s as an entry point to introduce the various performances of domestic water use during this period.In response to this situation,the Lanzhou City Government has also adopted a series of measures to improve domestic water use.For example,at the institutional level,the WB,Lanzhou Water Supply Co.,Ltd.,Waterworks Preparatory Committee,and Lanzhou Water Supply Engineering Office will be set up to technically strengthen water management and implement public drinking water disinfection and renovation of reservoirs.Water pumping rooms,construction of official water supply stations,and planning of simple water supply projects,establishment of water supply projects,etc.Although this series of measures has eased the situation of urban residents' living water use to some extent.However,due to difficulties in financial conditions,unstable political environment,weak industrial infrastructure,and insufficient capacity for urban public administration,related measures have failed to completely solve the problem of domestic water use,and have left profound historical experiences and lessons.
