Since the promotion of the nationalization of oil painting,the oil painting creation of ethnic minorities has gradually played an important role in the development of Chinese oil painting with its unique cultural connotation and aesthetic consciousness.However,as a province with many ethnic groups,Guizhou’s unique ethnic culture and geographical features have given Guizhou Miao oil painters rich creative nutrition.The Miao oil painting creation that expresses the Guizhou Miao’s cultural connotation and humanistic spirit has broken the past coldness and silence of the Guizhou oil painting industry and has gradually received attention and recognition from the outside world.‘How the Miao oil painting artists of Guizhou inherited the fine traditions of their predecessors and absorbed the essence of the national culture,combined with the positive elements of modern Western culture,and explored painting language with individual style?’This is worth exploring for the Miao oil painting artist in Guizhou.Subject and inescapable responsibility.This paper aims at the in-depth study of the artistic value of Miao oil paintings in Guizhou,and discusses the problems facing the creation and the new directions of exploration.The first chapter analyzes the status of Guizhou Miao oil painting creation through the summary and interpretation of the historical development of Guizhou Miao culture and Guizhou Miao oil painting creation history.Chapter 2 studies the representative painters and works in Guizhou one by one,so as to analyze the cultural connotation contained in the works and the artist’s expression of thoughts and emotions and the pursuit of the national aesthetic spirit.The third chapter analyzes and studies the problems faced by the subject in the diversification of oil paintings,so as to discuss how to solve and avoid these problems.The fourth chapter puts forward the exploration direction of this theme creation and discusses the spiritual outlook and the characteristics of the times that gave the Miao nationality oil painting creation.This article through the in-depth study of the artistic value of Guizhou Miao oil painting creation and the continuous integration of local cultural resources,not only make up for the lack of its literature,but also contribute to the improvement of the artistic level of Guizhou oil painting creation.Meanwhile,it plays a positive role to protect the intangible cultural heritage of Guizhou.
