The Miao nationality is one of the racial minorities with long and glorious history in which the Miao people created its colorful and characteristic ethnic culture .As one of the indispensable part of Chinese culture, the Miao culture does not come into being independently and it is in constant collision and fusion with exotic cultures. Particularly, the Miao culture in Guizhou northwest is typical and representative with its development track and the mode of change. During the period of the end of Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, with the entrance of the western Christian protestant culture and the mainstream culture from Central Plains, the cultural appearance changed. The fusion of diverse modes of culture would allow the Miao culture in Guizhou northwest to develop and change along with the regularity of culture. Furthermore, due to the interweaving cultural background, the Miao culture in Guizhou northwest adopted different cultural choice and cultural countermeasure. Thus the culture change of the Miao society in Guizhou northwest turned out to be extremely thought-provoking. The thesis attempts to adopt the theory and research methods of history, ethnology, sociology and anthropology to analyze in details the culture change of the Miao society in Guizhou northwest during the end of Qing dynasty and the Republic of China.
