The Influence Of Cleanliness On Moral Judgment-Differences Between Self And Others

Morality is crucial to building a harmonious family and society.The level of individual morality is not only affected by macroscopic aspects such as family education and school education.At the same time,simple cleaning activities(such as washing hands)in daily life may also be possible leads to the change of the individual's sense of morality In a short period of time,which in turn affects the individual's behavior and choice.With the improvement of the status of embodied cognition in the field of moral judgment,the physical experience of cleaning is more and more regarded by researchers.however,researchers adopt different methods to draw different conclusions.Some are even the opposite.This difference may be caused by differences in research methods,materials,and experimental controls.This study is very interested in the cleaning method and subjects of moral events.This study explores The influence of cleanliness on moral judgment from the perspective of differences between self and others.The study consisted of two parts: Experiment 1 explored the effects of clean(self VS others VS no clean)on the dilemmas(Experiment 1a),immoral and moral events(Study 1b)of different subjects(self VS others);On the basis of experiment 1,in Experiment 2,we further explored the ways in which clean(self VS others VS no clean)influence moral judgments.Experiment 1a adopts 3(clean : self VS others VS no clean)× 2(moral event subject: self VS others)Interviewee design,release recruitment information,select 192 undergraduates from Henan University to discuss the clean influence on the moral dilemma events,experiment 1b using the same experimental design and recruitment of participants examined the impact of clean on immoral and moral events.The results of the study are as follows:(1)The influence of cleaning on moral judgment is only focused on the judgment of moral dilemmas and immoral events.It has no impact on moral event.(2)Cleaning affect moral judgment mainly in self-moral dilemmas and immoral events.And does not work on others.(3)clean make moral judgment more stringent When we do moral judgment on ourselves.In Study 2,we further explored how different clean methods(self VS others VS no clean)influence moral judgment by changing the moral self-image or by activating the concept map of cleanliness? research shows:(4)self-cleaning and others-cleansing through moral self-images that play a role in moral judgment.Self-cleaning promotes moral self-image,and others cleaning cut down moral self-image.
