Research On The Influencing Factors Of College Students' Grit

Grit,defined as perseverance of effort and consistency.Previous studies showed that grit is the best indicator to predict college students' achievement level,and grit is very important for mental health and life development.The purpose of this study is to the development status of College Students' grit and explore the factors that affect their grit,so as to provide some suggestions for improving college students' grit.This research adopts the method of quantitative and qualitative to undergraduate students which is from freshman to senior in a school conducted a questionnaire survey and interviews in Nanchang.And on this basis,the research use the research method of descriptive statistics,correlation,regression,intermediate test and grounded theory to analysis.The results show that:(1)The results of Grit test showed that the reliability and validity of the grit in college students was good,and they were superior to those of the Grit-S scale.(2)The college students' grit quality level has a normal distribution,and grit as well as the two dimension scores have reached the medium level.(3)There are significant differences in college students' grit in terms of gender,grade,academic achievement,close friends,family rearing patterns,personality,temper,participation in exercise every week and the cultural level of the mother.There is no significant difference in the place of the family,whether to take a postgraduate study,the only child,the profession,and the cultural level of the father.(4)The sense of self-efficacy,the frequency of exercise,the way of family upbringing and the grade have a significant predictive effect on the quality of grit.(5)Self efficacy plays an intermediary role between academic achievement level and grit,movement frequency and grit.(6)The factors that affect the grit of college students include social support,personality traits,achievement experience,self cognition and individual assessment of tasks.College Students' grit generally develops well,and their development level will be influenced by factors such as demographic variables,social support,personality traits,achievement experience,self cognition and individual assessment of tasks..In the future,we can enhance college students' grit by strengthening students' physical exercise,improving their interpersonal communication ability and self-efficacy level,and enhancing their cultural atmosphere.
