With the expanding enrollment of college and university, graduates encounter the problem of hunting job. Unemployed college students generally have problem in mental adaptation when they are confronted with the stress event of unemployment. This study aims to construct the architecture of the situation of metal adaptation of unemployed college students and explore the influential population factors and psychological factors from the view of negative emotion.In study 1, the architecture of negative emotion was constructed with the mythology of grounded theory. The structure of the unemployed college students' negative emotion have 6 facets, including alienation, contexture reaction, pessimism and helplessness, the sense of stress, aberration and anti-society, and grievance.In study 2, the Scale of Negative Emotion was established on the base of the architecture of negative emotion which has proved effectively in study 1. The exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis confirmed that the structure of the scale fitted the theoretical expectation. The item analysis and reliability analysis revealed that this scale had appropriate psychometric properties. The scale is suitable for further investigation.In study 3, influential factors were explored with the Scale of Negative Emotion. The healthe leavel of unemployment college student is lower than that of the employment college students.The regression analysis showed that coping style, social support and personality characters affect the unemployed college students' negative emotion. Negative coping style is one of the most important influential factors. While social support, self-efficacy and personality characters like introversion and extroversion, nervous disposition and so on also work.With the method of Structural Equation Model, We explore the effect of coping style, the self-efficacy, personality characters, social support and negative emotions which affect the negative mutation together. The mental adaptation problem of unemployed students can be improved through changing the coping style, the general self-efficacy, social support and personality characters of college students.
