Altruistic behavior is a kind of act that individuals volunteer to benefit others without expecting their own profits. The altruistic behavior of college students has been paid attention to,and it is an important social topic for the study of the present situation of altruistic behavior and influencing factors of contemporary college students. The belief in a just world(BJW)is defined as the belief that the world is a just place where people generally get what they deserve.Former studies have found that the BJW is an important influencing factor of individual altruistic behavior.Compared with the individuals with low BJW,the individuals with high BJW believe that the world is fair, willing to work for a better future, and in the face of recipients having higher altruistic tendency. But the other studies also pointed out that BJW could protect the individual's sense of justice and mental health. But it is also possible to choose to ignore,be indifferent to victim and have less altruistic behavior in the face of the injustices in society because recipients' features or their own characteristic. To make a clear definition of the double-sided effect of just world beliefs on altruistic behavior and the impact conditions, the study used the social responsibility and forgiveness as individual characteristic variables to explore the internal mechanism of the effect of just world belief on altruistic behavior. This study used belief in a just world scale, the social responsibility questionnaire,Heartland Forgiveness Scale,College Students' Altruistic Behavior Questionnaire,to investigate the just world belief level, altruistic behavior and individual characteristics of 950 college students of the two universities in Wuhan, and finally got 773 effective questionnaires.Data was analyzed with SPSS 21.0 and Amos software. The results showed that:(1)There is a significant positive correlation between the belief in a just world and the altruistic behavior. The belief in a just world has a positive predictive effect on the altruistic behavior, and the individuals with high belief in a just world are more likely to act altruistically.(2)There is a significant positive correlation between social responsibility and altruistic behavior.Social responsibility has a positive predictive effect on altruistic behavior, and individuals with higher social responsibility are more likely to act altruistically.(3)Social responsibility plays a mediation role between the belief in justice and altruistic behavior;(4)Forgiveness plays a moderation role in the relationship between a just world belief, social responsibility and altruistic behavior. Finally, the theoretical value and practical value of the research were expounded, and the future research direction and assumption are put forward based on the deficiency existing in the research.
