Gender-role theory holds that the androgyny personality, which has combined the advantages of both genders in temperament and character,is a more ideal personality mode. Therefore, the relationship between gender role and mental health has always been a hot topic of psychology. In the field of educational psychology, there are many researches on gender roles' differences. However, most of the researches have been confined to questionnaires and case studies. This conclusion mentioned above is lack of evidence from neuroscience. In this study,we used the ERP technique to study the differences of gender roles in emotional vocabulary cognition. After using scales to remove individuals with low emotional state,we chose 15 females for each group(the bisexual group, the feminization group and the undifferentiated group)as subjects. The subjects were given positive, negative and neutral vocabulary, and been advised to make positive and negative judgments. Then we recorded their behavioural and ERP data.We used variance analysis to deal with reaction time and correct rate data, and have found that the correct rate of the bisexual group was significantly higher than that of the feminization group and the undifferentiated group, and the difference of the feminization group and the undifferentiated group was not significant;the responses of the bisexual group and the feminization group are significantly faster than the undifferentiated group, but there was no significant difference between the bisexual group and the feminization group. And then we use the three-factor mixed design of 3(gender roles: the bisexual group, the feminization group and the undifferentiated group)*3(emotional vocabulary: positive, negative and neutral)* 3(hemisphere: left, middle, right). Results showed that:(1)P1 component: the bisexual group has caused a shorter incubation period than the undifferentiated group, but caused a larger amplitude. The amplitude of the feminization group was significantly higher than that of the undifferentiated group. The amplitude of the left or right hemispheres issignificantly smaller than that of the middle part.(2)P2 component: The amplitude evoked by negative vocabulary is significantly higher than that evoked by positive vocabulary or neutral vocabulary. The amplitude of the left hemisphere is significantly greater than that of the middle part(3)N400 component: The amplitude of the bisexual group was significantly greater than that of the undifferentiated group. The amplitude evoked by negative vocabulary or positive vocabulary is significantly higher than that evoked by neutral vocabulary. The amplitude of the left hemispheres is significantly smaller than that of the middle part or the right hemispheres.(4)LPC component: The incubation period of the neutral vocabulary is significantly greater than that of positive and negative vocabulary. The incubation period of the left hemisphere is significantly smaller than the right hemisphere and the middle. The amplitude of bisexual and feminization group was significantly greater than that of the undifferentiated group. The amplitude evoked by negative vocabulary is significantly larger than that of neutral vocabulary. The amplitude of the middle part is significantly greater than that of the left hemisphere. The conclusions are as follows:(1)The bisexual group can determine the valence of vocabulary faster and more accurately, and is more inclined to identify the neutral vocabulary as positive vocabulary.(2)The bisexual group can allocate more attention to emotional valence more quickly in the initial automated processing stage. It shows that the bisexual individuals have a stronger sense of emotion.(3)In the early stage of automatic emotional processing, positive vocabulary can be noticed earlier, but negative vocabulary can get more attention resources during the emotional judgment.(4)The bisexual group allocated more cognitive resources to the experience and association of emotional stimulation, and invested more psychological factors.(5)Neutral vocabulary had the least information processing, and the least psychological involvement.
