Study On The Historical Geography Of LiXian Town

located in the northwest of Hunan Province,Lixian county is a hinterland of Li Yang plain at the Lishui River downstream,which is under the jurisdiction of Changde City.Lixian county once named "Li Yang" or "Li Zhou".There is a tendency of overflowing rivers and lakes,Control the risk of mountain lock river,Has always been a battle for war,geographical position is important.Lixian county,the military strategist battleground,is very important in its geographical position.Lixian country has a long history and profound cultural background.The evolving process in Lixian City is tangled and complicated.Based on above mentioned,this thesis shall summarize out experiences and lessons from the evolving track of Lixian city and provide are ference for future development of city.Liyang country was founded in the ninth year of Sui Kaihuang(589)under the jurisdiction of Li Zhou.Liyang country was merged into Li Zhou in the year of 1376 which was the ninth year of Ming Hongwu.Yongzheng 7 years of Qing Dynasty(1729),risa Li Zhou state for Zhili state.In 1913,Change state into county,called"Lixian".Better geographic location,abundant water resources and other natural geographical condition laid a good foundation for the construction of Lixian City.Since the county was founded for more than 1400 years,the population has gradually increased,the economy has been continuously developed,and the unique culture has gradually formed local customs and dialects.With convenient transportation,Lixian Town is the county's political,economic and cultural center.The earliest county site is located in the southern bank of Lishui River,which is now the Linan village.At the beginning of Tang Dynasty,the county has moved to Xinzhou Town(now Jinshi City).Thereafter,the county has changed many times.In the fifth year of Ming Hongwu(1372,Lixian country moved to Liyang Town once again,moved to Liyang,and the site has not changed since then.Since the Ming Dynasty,as a city,Lixian City relatively large scale.Since the construction of the wall in the early Ming Dynasty,the wall has developed from earth barrier to brick,during which time it has been renovated because of war and flood.The Qing Dynasty,Lixian City Office building is basically complete,the city building gradually increased,urban plane pattern is basically perfect.During the period of the Republic of China,the city of Lixian was affected by external factors,the urban plane pattern had some changes,and appeared the architecture of the combination of Combination of Chinese and Western,but the overall pattern did not change greatly.With the development of the society,the population of Lixian is increasing gradually.According to speculation,Hongwu 25 years of 1392,Lixian City about 2616 people.In 1930,Lixian City has 8000 people,the urban population has a large growth.In terms of economy,Lixian is developed in agriculture,handicraft and commerce,which lays a material foundation for the prosperity of Lixian.In the aspect of culture,many outstanding figures have emerged in the history of Lixian County,leaving a rich cultural heritage for Lixian City.After the founding of New China,the development of Lixian City entered a new stage.However,due to the lack of scientific planning,in the process of urban development,the city walls,ancient buildings and other historic cultural relics have been mostly demolished or rebuilt by mistake.With the development of economy,people are paying more and more attention to the display of urban characteristic culture.The government of Lixian county is also trying to create the characteristic culture.This requires the government and people to make concerted efforts to formulate relevant policies and regulations after understanding the vicissitude track and historical culture of Lixian Town,and jointly solve various problems arising in the construction of urbanization.We should not only develop tourism,but also protect historical and culture relics,as far as possible to coordinate the relationship between tourism development and urban construction.
