The Study On Monk's Poetry In Early Northern Song Dynasty

Monks'poetry of early Song Dynasty is not only a part of the buddhist culture,but also a component part of the Song Dynasty poetry which is wide and subtle.The monk poets of early Song Dynasty are numerous.However,except the most famous monk Jiu,who are representatives of Late Tang Dynasty style,have got extra attention by researchers,the rest monk poets including their poems are seldom known by people.Therefore,this graduation thesis choose Monks'poetry of early Song Dynasty as object of study,to show the whole features of it and explicate how the monks'poetry building and contributing to the style of Song poetry.This thesis will mainly discuss from the following four chapters:The first chapter is a compositive investigation for the reasons why lots of outstanding monk poets are emerging,which mainly dessertate from two aspects:the cultural history and the age nature of the production of Monks'poetry of early Song Dynasty.Also,this chapter will make a brief list of the monk poets'situation,and research weather the condition of the texts of these poems are reserved or not.The second chapter discusses the topic trend of Monks'poetry of early Song Dynasty,which can be simply divided into four categories according to contents:pastoral Poetry,praise Poetry,meditation Poetry and excursion Poetry.The third chapter analyzes inheritance to the poetry art of the late Tang Dynasty.Most of them inherit the style of the late Tang Dynasty,presenting the features of late Tang Dynasty.However,we could not neglect that Zhiyuan once made poetry by imitating poet Juyi Bai,which style is famous for plain and clearness.The fourth chapter studies significance and value to the construction of the pattern of Song poetry.Monks'poetry of early Song Dynasty appeared in the time when the poems switch from "Tang Yin" to "Song Diao",which made a certain contribution to the world of Song Dynasty.
