The equate-to-differentiate model(EDM)has been proved to have good explanatory power in many fields, but it is less involved in the discussion of the decision with three possible outcomes. The three-result decision contains three possible outcomes. In view of the differences in the interpretation of the decision process on decision with three possible outcomes by the EDM,this paper tries to make a more systematic discussion on decision with three possible outcomes from the perspective of the EDM.In study 1,we first verify whether the representing frame of the classical decision task with three possible outcomes(the first task of the Allais paradox)with different result values(?100000000,?10000),was as true as that of Li Xiaoping's research in 2017.Secondly,in order to verify the results of experiment 1,the survey was designed to examine directly how to divide the dimensions in the decision-making task with three possible outcomes. In study 2,in order to further explore the representing frame of the decision tasks with three possible outcomes based on risk and fuzzy conditions with high and low expectations of the intermediate option by the EDM,students from China were tested by our own experimental materials.First, designed the decision tasks with three possible outcomes based on risk and ambiguity. Each decision-making task included two options,A and B,in which option B contains three result branches.By changing the second result value of the option B,which is the result value of the intermediate option, and then manipulating the expected value of the intermediate option, this paper aimed to discusses the dimension of decision based on the high and low expected value. Then,in order to further verify the results of experiment 2,the survey was designed to test directly how to divide the dimensions in the decision tasks with three possible outcomes under different conditions(risk, ambiguity)and different expected values. In study 3,since the previous research had involved the decision with three possible outcomes under the positive condition,we added the decision task with three possible outcomes under positive condition on the basis of risk, fuzzycondition. Thus, based on three different conditions: identification, risk and ambiguity, two schemes were designed for the decision with three possible outcomes, and the intermediate option in each scheme was designed to the option for offsetting each other, that is,the intermediate options of the three result branches were identical, and then the dimensions of the decision were explored.Furthermore,in order to further verify the results of experiment 3,the survey was designed to examine directly how dimensions were divided in the three decision-making tasks with the same intermediate options under three different conditions: affirmation, risk, and ambiguity. This research obtains the following conclusions :(1)The decision with three possible outcomes under different conditions could be predicted well by the EDM.(2)On the decision task with three possible outcomes of different result values, the representation dimension of the EDM was “better-worse” dimension.(3)On the decision with three possible outcomes task under risk and fuzzy conditions, when the expected value of the intermediate option was high or low respectively, the representation dimension of the EDM was not consistent. In the case of the risk decision, whether the expected value of the intermediate option was high or low, participants were represented on a “better-worse” dimension.Under the fuzzy condition, when the expected value of the intermediate option was expected to be high, the participants were represented on the basis of the “better-worse”dimension.When the expected value of the intermediate option was expected to be low, participants were represented on two dimensions: “better-worse” and“best-worst”.(4)On the decision with three possible outcomes task with the same intermediate option under positive, risk and fuzzy conditions respectively, the representation dimension of the EDM was not consistent. On the decision task with three possible outcomes with the same intermediate option under the positive condition, the representation dimension of the EDM should be "best-worst" dimension.Under the risk condition, the representation dimension of the EDM should be “better-worse” dimension.Under the fuzzy condition, the subjects were represented on the basis of the two dimensions of “better-worse” and “best-worst”.
