The Survey And Research Of Ghost Marriages In Enping Area Of Guangdong

Ghost marriages in Enping area is a ancient and mysterious tradition.The earliest history of ghost marriage in Enping can be traced back to Ming dynasty,which has a history of 400 years at least according to Enping county annals.For people in Enping,it is actually a special culture that combines the two ceremony of funerals and marriages.It not only blurs the boundaries between life and death,but also assimilates the concept of them,and combining marriage and funeral.Unlike other areas' ghost marriages,ghost marriage in Enping area did not have bad influence.Instead,it has its unique positivity and functionality.Its unique positivity and functionality is the result of integrating various variables such as natural environment,social environment,climate,historical background,and religious conditions in Enping.This regionalism has also led to the unique characteristics of ghost marriages in Enping.Through ghost marriages,it expressed people's concept of life or the fear of ghosts.This article is focuses on ghost marriages of Enping area in Guangdong.With the deep field survey,large number of reading county annals and other related literature,I analyzed Enping's ghost marriages from a regional perspective.This article has four parts.The first part is the introduction,which explains why I chose this topic and its significance,and my research content and ideas.The second part mainly discusses the conception of wedding and funeal in Enping area,and the types of ghost marriages.I also gives a general explanation of ghost marriage in Enping area from both official and public perspectives.The third part is the main part of this paper,expounds the characteristics and regionalism of ghost marriage in Enping.I explained this part with interview data obtained from field surveys and county annals.The fourth part describes the conditions created by natural environment and social environment in Enping for ghost marriage.The fifth part is the conclusion part.I summarizes the above parts and describes the positive aspects of ghost marriage which is due to its regionalism in Enping.
