The Liubei pond relic,located in Yibin of Sichuan Province,was first built in Song Dynasty by the famous poet Huang Tingjian.Winding in a gorge with rockery carving on the cliff,the Liubei pond provides important material data for the research about the planning of landscape since Song Dynasty,and Chinese wine culture.In this paper,based on the investigation,reports,and the literature of Song Dynasty,the authors try to discuss about the origin,nature,typological characteristics,heritage value of this garden remains and its relationship with wine culture and Huang Tingjian's literature.The thesis is composed of four parts.?.Based on an intimate knowledge of Yibin history,the paper points out that Yibin's profound wine culture and Huang Tingjian's creature are highly interrelated and mutually reinforcing persistently.?.Through expounded research and fieldwork,the paper reviews the historical development and cultural background of Liubei Pond as well as its neighboring relics systematically.It can be conclude that Liubei pond was originally constructed during the reign of Yuanfu,Song Dynasty,(1108-1110).Winding in a gorge roughly from east to west,the distinguished pattern of Yibin pond indicates the design philosophy of positioning on local condition and one method with various forms,as well as the pursuit and admiration of Lanting elegant gathering of the intellectuals to some extent due to its typological and landscape layout peculiarities.?.A comprehensive survey was conducted to observe,classify and analyze the 70 pieces of exsisting cliff inscriptions(including Song Dynasty/10,Yuan Dynasty/3,Ming Dynasty/18).Of great aesthetic and historical value,the cliff carving offers a record of the cultural background of Liubei Pond which is of great historical reference value.It plays an important role in empirical research and sustainable cultural landscape construction rich in poetic and pictorial splendor,which is of high appreciation.?.This paper summarily elaborates the values and achivements of Liubei pond and cliff inscriptions in ethical codes,landscape making,cross-cultural,communication and cultural heritage and propose a prospect.
