This is a report on The Psychoanalysis of Career Choice,Job Performance and Satisfaction:How to Flourish in the Workplace(Chapter 3)written by Paul Marcus. It is first published by Routledge in 2017.The book has discussed the issues of personal employment and job selection from a psychological point of view.It combines the psychoanalysis with the career choice and job performance to tell us how to find a good job suitable for us and how to give the full play in the workplace. And there are great reference value from the psychological advice in aspect of the job selection and inner mind exploration. The difficulties and key points in the translation project lie in the abstract and obscure professional knowledge, broken thoughts and writing style of author and long complex sentences. Therefore, functional equivalence put forward by Eugene Nida and register theory are employed as the backup to deliver the meaning of source text as accurate as possible.Besides,in the process of translation, many translation techniques are also used, such as conversions of parts of speech, amplification and so on.
