The Impact Of SNS Self-disclosure On Social Capital:Chain Mediating Role Of Upward Social Comparison And Positive Feedback

The popularization of social network sites in people's lives has made them the main platform tools for people's interpersonal communication.Self-disclosure behaviors of social networking websites are commonly used by individuals during the use of social networking websites.This behavior almost runs through the use of the entire social networking website.A large number of studies have shown that self-disclosure of social networking sites can positively predict individual social capital.However,the mechanism of SNS self-disclosure on social capital remains unclear.Upward social comparison is a psychological phenomenon that often occurs in individual life.The popularity of social networking sites increases the number of individuals' access to information,thereby stimulating individuals to make social comparisons,and comparing the effects of different effects on individual social capital.Positive feedback is a kind of social feedback.SNS self-disclosure will lead individuals to gain more positive feedback.Positive feedback can not only provide individuals with certain social support,but also affect the individual's mental health,and have an impact on the individual's social capital.Therefore,to explore the intermediary mechanism of SNS self-disclosure with social capital effect has great theoretical value and application value.Based on the results of various theoretical studies,This study used a convenient sampling method to select 440 freshmen and junior college students from two universities in Xi'an as research subjects.Revised Self-Disclosure Scale,Iowa-Netherlands Comparison Orientation Measure,Online Positive Feedback Scale and Internet Social Capital Scales were used to examine the relationship among SNS self-disclosure,social comparisons,positive feedback and social capital.On this basis,using Mplus7.0 software to establish a chain-mediated role model between social comparisons and positive feedback in SNS self-disclosure and social capital.In order to further reveal the internal role of SNS self-disclosure in influencing bridge social capital and bond social capital.The results as follows:(1)There is a gender difference between bond social capital and upswing society.The bond social capital level of female students is significantly higher than that of male students.The upward social comparison level of boys is significantly higher than that of female students.(2)SNS self-disclosure,upward social comparison,and positive feedback were positively correlated with bridge social capital;self-disclosure,positive feedback from social networking sites was positively correlated with bond social capital;SNS self-disclosure,upward social comparison and positive feedback were significantly positively correlated;upward social comparison and positive feedback were significantly positively correlated.(3)Upward social comparison has a simple mediating role in the relationship between SNS self-disclosure and bridge social capital.In other words,SNS self-disclosure not only can directly affect the bridge social capital,but also can affect the bond social capital through upward social comparison.(4)Upward social comparison and positive feedback play a chain mediated role in the relationship between SNS self-disclosure and bond social capital.In other words,SNS self-disclosure influences positive feedback through upward social comparison,which in turn affects bridge social capital.(5)Upward social comparison and positive feedback play a chain mediated role in the relationship between SNS self-disclosure and bridge social capital.In other words,SNS self-disclosure influences positive feedback through upward social comparison,which in turn affects bond social capital.The above research results not only have important theoretical significance for revealing the social interaction mechanism of SNS self-disclosure influence the bridge social capital and bond social capital.Moreover,it has important practical significance for improving the social capital of college students and the mental health and happiness.
