With the economy developing at an incredible speed nowadays,the concept of lifelong learning has become one of the most influential ideologies of the modern society.As the basis of its establishment and development,autonomous learning is a necessary skill for students in senior high school.In the current English teaching environment in China,the disadvantages of traditional education are still obvious,and the call for cultivating students' autonomous learning ability is increasing.Therefore,this thesis mainly aims at how to improve the autonomous learning ability of students in senior high school with limited objective conditions.The thesis is made up of five chapters.In chapter one,it is focused on the purpose and significance of the research,and summarizes the research process of autonomous learning at home and abroad.In chapter two,it aims at stating the definition,content,influencing factors and theoretical construction of autonomous learning.In chapter three,it is focused on how teachers teach and how students learn English in current senior high schools in Changchun.In chapter four,on the basis of chapter three,the teaching model of autonomous learning in senior high school is studied from different aspects,which are teaching model,environment construction,teaching evaluation and teachers' task.At last,in chapter five,with the sophomore students of No.l Middle School of Jiutai District,Changchun serving as the object of the study,the relationship between autonomous learning and the result of students' English test is verified through the study of individual cases.Besides,the experimental results are analyzed and it shows that after the comprehensive training process,the academic performance of the students is significantly improved.The shortages are also summarized and reflected.In short,the thesis aims at making some advice for the front-line teachers to further improve the quality of English teaching and promote the students' ability of autonomous learning.
