With the development of time,China is becoming more and more international and globalized,and English is becoming more and more important.The writer has been teaching English for four years in NO.2 Senior High School in Xinzhou,Wuhan.I find that there exists a huge gap in English level between rural high schools and urban high schools.What’s worse,in rural high schools,there is a high proportion of underachievers in English learning,which attracts my attention.I consider finding a kind of teaching method which is more suitable for rural high school students so as to improve the underachievers’English,reduce the proportion of English underachievers and narrow the gap of English teaching between rural high schools and urban ones.Mobile and Stratified Teaching System has been applied in many urban senior high schools,while in most rural high schools,the traditional one-way instillation teaching plays a leading role in English class.Therefore we can make some improvement in their teaching methods.The writer has referred to a large number of related material to figure out the definition and application of Mobile and Stratified Teaching System,as well as its theoretical basis,development process and research status of home and abroad.After accumulating its theoretical foundation,I consulted some experienced teachers who have used this teaching system and then developed a trial scheme of mine based on practical conditions in our school,which got the support of school leaders.In the process of implementation,I set up experimental class and control class,try my best to control irrelevant variables,scrupulously record and analyze characteristics of the students and related data,so as to argue whether Mobile and Stratified Teaching System can improve underachievers’English,arouse their interest in English learning and improve their initiative;and also analyze the advantages of this teaching system compared with traditional teaching methods-According to the experiment,Mobile and Stratified Teaching System can comprehensively strengthen the underachievers’English in rural high schools,which will improve their confidence in learning English,and arouse their interest and initiative in English study in return.In addition,it can shorten the distance between teachers and students.Therefore,this teaching method plays an active role in improving underachievers’English as well as the efficiency of teaching in English class.As a result,it will maximally narrow the gap of English caused by non-intelligence factors between urban and rural high schools.
