With the release of The Documents Of The New College-entrance Examination Mode,all the high schools in Shanghai are participating in the adjustment,actively focusing on the reform of the implementation of the stratified English teaching.This thesis studies the impact of the stratified English teaching on the students' learning emotion and academic achievement.There are three questions put forward.The first is how the stratified English teaching affects Senior I students' emotion in discrepant groups,the second is how the stratified English teaching affects Senior I students' academic achievement in discrepant groups,and the last is what necessary measures are to be taken in high school.The research subjects are all the freshmen in Shanghai Minxing High School.The students,based on their current levels and wills,are divided into three groups,A(high-level),B(average-level)and C(low-level).The study adopts the integrated use of qualitative and quantitative method with the tools of the questionnaire,the test and the interview.The researcher hopes to find out how the stratified English teaching affects the students' learning emotion,academic achievement,and the measures of the stratified English teaching.Through a year of study,the experiment has come to a conclusion as follows:First,the stratified English teaching has a significant impact on Group B and Group C's learning emotion while no significant impact on Group A's.Second,the stratified English teaching has actually improved all the three groups' academic achievements.Third,there are practical measures for the stratified English teaching on policy,management and teaching,which is in need of system guarantee.Therefore,some suggestions are put forward for researchers,policy makers,teachers and students as well.The experiment is aimed at the practicability of the stratified English teaching for the new college-entrance examination mode in high school.The evidence is rich in practical teaching and learning for the further study in English teaching in Minxing High School,providing some reference to those researching on other subjects and for other schools probably.
