An Analysis On Code-switching Between Dialects Of Wuhan And Mandarin In The Cabby Paradise

In a conversation,two or more than two kinds of language variants are called code switching.In a conversation,two or more than two kinds of language variants are called code switching.Linguists have proposed distinctive research theories,whether in sociolinguistics,syntax,psycholinguistics or pragmatics.In the linguistic circle of our country,code switching research mainly focuses on two areas:sociolinguistics and pragmatics,and among them,the research results of English Chinese code switching are the most abundant,while the results of code switching between Mandarin and dialects are relatively few.For that reason,we choose code switching between Mandarin and Wuhan dialect as the object of study,and we hope that it can be helpful for the study of code switching in Mandarin and Mandarin.The corpus of this article originates from Wuhan's local broadcast column cabby paradise",and the main feature of the column is the bilingual code of Wuhan dialect and Mandarin,which can provide us with abundant code switching materials.The theory of this article comes from Verschueren's Linguistic Adaptation Theory and Yu Guodong's code switching mode of adaptation.Adaptation theory of language and the adaptation model of code conversion are widely applied in pragmatics,which can really explain the causes of code switching proved by the rich and diverse research results.Therefore,after considering the purpose and characteristics of the corpus,we decided to study code switching from the above theory perspective.This paper mainly solves the following three problems:(1)The reason of the code switching occurs in the column.(2)The reason of the differences in code switching occurrence number in different sections of the column.(3)The reason of the differences in code switching frequency in different sections of the column.Through research,we find that the reasons for code switching occur is to conform to language reality,social motivation and psychological motivation;the number of code switching occurring in different blocks is caused by the number of adaptive motivations in different columns,and the more motivation of adaptation,the more times of code switching;the difference in frequency of code switching in different blocks is caused by the relationship between the motivation of the code conversion and the unbalance between the different factors in the motivation.The more balanced the relationship between motives and different factors,the more conforming to the features of the block,the more frequent the code conversion will be.At the end of this article,according to the collected corpus,we put forward some views on the protection of dialect,and believe that the popularization of Putonghua does have some negative effects on Wuhan dialect.We hope that the government and the school will work together to make Mandarin and Wuhan dialects develop harmoniously in the future.
