A Report On The Translation Of A Care-based Model Of The Physician-patient Relationship (Chapter 3)

The original text is a doctoral dissertation of McMaster University which describes an ideal physician-patient relationship.In our country,the physician-patient relationship has always been strained owing to the lack of discussion and communication between them.Thus,it presents a new model of the relationship----a model,suitable to different physician-patient relationships.It will help to adjust the relationship between the physician and the patient.In our country the relation between doctors and patients is tense and medical disputes appear in an increasing number.The physician-patient relationship in China is in great need of such a translation of the ideal model of physician-patient relationship.The translated version will offer valuable advice to hospitals in doing better management.The translator chooses Contrastive Studies of English and Chinese,a branch of linguistics,as the basic theory.During the translation period,it is necessary to be aware of the differences between these two languages to understand the original text better and express it in Chinese appropriately.Based on the theory of Contrastive Studies of English and Chinese,this report discusses how to make the translated text readable to the target readers with faithfulness to the original text.When choosing the original text,the translated version had not been found on the Internet.
